燕麥乳霜 DIY Eczema Cream

I like 【Ｔhe Nerdy Farm Wife】 very much, always expecting her next post. The most important thing is the information Jan wrote is always very helpful. I've tried many of the recipes in her blog and they all turn out great!

Today, I remade this DIY Eczema Cream with my fine ground oatmeal. I used Vitamix to grind oatmeal till very fine, and sifted the oatmeal powder twice. I don't want my cream to be grainy. Then just follow Jan's post and it's done!

萬壽菊燕麥皂 Marigold and Oatmeal Soap

Last Sunday, my mom gave me some dried marigold. It has a special sweet scent and is commonly used to make tea. I infused half of it in olive oil, and keep half in jar for tea. 

I made some marigold tea with distill water and freeze it for making soaps. The ice cubes of marigold tea  and some more distill water along with NaOH were mixed as lye water. The purpose of freezing the tea is just to keep the lye water in a lower temperature.

I have some Chamomile infused oils, one is apricot kernel oil and the other is extra virgin olive oil. I used both of them. Though oatmeal is often seen in the recipe of Honey and Oatmeal Soap, I still decided to add my fine ground oatmeal in this soap, since oatmeal is good for eczema and sensitive skin. This soap is designed for my sister, who has sensitive skin and is going through some medical treatment.

1% sodium lactate

95% alcohol spray

竹炭皂 Activated Charcoal Soap

This recipe is base on 72% olive oil, and added activated charcoal. Since my new bottle of activated charcoal oil is not exactly black, I added a little bit of charcoal powder. 

1. 1% Sodium Lactate

潤膚霜 Body Cream/Lotion

Container one:

1. Lavender hydrosol 20g
2. Distill water 40g

Container two:

1. Sunflower oil 17g
2. Shea butter 15g
3. Beeswax 2g
4. Emulsifying wax 7.5g

*Preservative of choice

Container one:

1. Chamomile hydrosol 30g
2. Distill water 40g

Container two:

1. Sunflower oil 23g
2. Emulsifying wax 7g

*Chamomile essential oil 5 drops

*Preservative of choice

Container one:

1. Rose hydrosol 20g
2. Distill water 40g

Container two:

1. Sunflower oil 17g
2. Shea butter 15g
3. Rose wax 0.5g
4. Beeswax 1.5g
5. Emulsifying wax 7.5g

用電燉鍋再煮一次，約煮 50 分鐘。

This batch is over cooked for over 1 hr, at high. The texture is too hard and easily break.

3. slow cooker set at low, cook for around 50 mins, check every 10 mins

白芒花潔膚皂 Meadowfoam Soap

1. 1% sodium lactate in lye.
2. 80g soap batter with 8g activated charcoal liquid mix. 
3. Lavender essential oil around 7g
4. Hanger swirl

Charcoal Facial Soap 竹炭洗顏皂

There's 5% Tamanu oil in the recipe. I used Aroma-Zone organic Tamanu oil. Though I added activated charcoal, the soap still ended up green.
